Hi,
I recently bought 2 baby bearded dragons from a friend they are now much larger and are fine when handled!

Another friend bought one at the same time but has not looked after it very well at all, its viv was left on the floor and was frequently being terrorised by cats and small children banging on the glass. He never handled it because it tried to bite him all the time (Not surprising)

On saturday he decided he'd had enough and decided to give it to me. It seems to have not grown at all and was not eating! I am keeping in a seperate viv due to the size difference compared to the other 2 which are the same age!

A reptile store owner recommended i give him a bath to help rehydrate him, i have done this and since then he has perked up and is now eating. however whenever i try to pick him up he opens his mouth then attempts to bite me. anyone have any suggestions on how i can try to calm him down and stop him being so scared?

Alright Guys and Gals,

Some of you might know me from the Cornsnake sister forum. Basically I've got 2 corn snakes and I want a Boa. I've always loved snakes but due to the irrational fear of a certain mother I was never allowed one. ATM I live in a shared house so I can't have a Boa but I'm looking for a house. The problem is that my fiancee isn't 100% keen on the idea, I think its due to the size.

So what I am asking from you is; can you share your experiences and the pros of having a boa. Their temperament etc. I'm trying to sell her on the idea that they basically are as docile as a corn snake, even more so!

I'll thank you in advanced

Hi all not posted on here for a while due to mrs toggsy being diagnosed with cancer and me having to care for her.
Not a novice when it comes to handling snakes and I currently have cb 10 female normal royal and cb08 male anery corn I've recently purchased a carpet python approx 2 years old and a male we think as its not been probed and a approx 4 feet in length from preloved.
When we collected him, the previous owner took him out no problems and both myself and mrs toggsy handled him and he seemed very settled and calm.
Since we've got him back we've noticed he's very jumpy and worried about him striking out at us
I've purchased a snake hook as a precaution and I've been using the hook to manoeuvre him around and handle him by keeping the biting end away from me.
Read on the net about using a glove so if he does strike he won't like the taste.
Does the 2 week rule about allowing them settle to apply for sub adults ?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated
Ive been using the cornsnake forum for a couple of weeks now and the advice has been brilliant!

The reason ive come ober to this forum is im also interested in Tokay geckos (which I was actually buying in the first place before I got led astray by corn snakes!)and noticed there was quite a few keepers on here. So just came for a nosy and advice when the time comes!

A few days ago my partner and I noticed a lump on the left hand side of our CWD. We decided to leave it be and not handle him for a few days to see if it was just swelling from a fall. The lump has not gone down and is beginning to worry us. He is acting as normal and does not appear to be in any pain as far as we can tell. Any advice would be a great help.
Thanks in Advance

Hi, new on here and have recently become the owner of a little horsefield tortoise named Ozzie, only had him for a few days but he doesnt seem very lively, the first few days I had him he seemed okay, pottered around and having a dig everywhere as they do but the past 2 days all he seems to want to do is sleep, he doesnt seem to be eating much either if at all.

he is currently on some antibiotics we got from the vet cause he had a runny nose and a leaky eye when we got him. could this be why hes not being himself or could it be something else? we got sold a vivarium with him (was recomended the best thing to keep him in) but after reading up I have found that most people use tortoise tables so intend on investing in one next week.

any help or general info would be great

thanks Dan

Got 2 baby water dragons. By rough size they are no older then 6 months old. Maybe 3-3.5 inches to vent.

Just need to know what to expect from them behaviour wise. I have read a few books but they are vague. They are very skittish to be expect. The smaller one is more scared then the slightly bigger one who seems to seek being taken out of the vivarium.
But they are spending alot of their time under a bark arch at the moment. Is this normal?

Thanks
